About Me

Manuel Stettner
My current work consists of editing feature films – fiction and documentaries, shorts as well as experimental art films. For some projects I work as a director too.

In the art field I collaborate for example with the artist Alexander Schellow. He draws animations reconstructed from his memory, telling always a story of space and society.

In terms of fiction film I’m very genre-open. My first feature film “Klappe Cowboy” was a kind of comedy and got classified as a film of the “Berliner Sonderschule” (as a counter movement to the Berliner Schule). In contrast, “Füße im Mund”, my second feature film, is a classic, very rough drama. For Sobo Swobodnik I edited the documentary SEXarbeiterin, a film about the sexworker Lena Morgenroth.

I really like new challenges and having to rethink my way of editing, and how to narrate a story.

Besides editing films I work on art installations, for museums and produce live visuals.

I primarily work with Final Cut Pro but also with Avid and Adobe Premiere. I have my own editing suite.
I’m a member of the Bundesverband Filmschnitt Editoren e.V. (the german professional association for editors).
